AllSync 4 Manual ➝ Profile Properties

Folder Options

  • Do not search NTFS junction points
  • Disable Windows 64-bit file system redirection
  • Check accessibility of source and destination folders

Do not search NTFS junction points

This option prevents scanning of NTFS junction points. It is enabled by default. If you disable this option, you should use the copy preview to ensure that junction points in the source or destination do not cause infinite loops where the same data is repeatedly read.

Disable Windows 64-bit file system redirection

This option allows direct access to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and prevents automatic redirection to C:\Windows\SysWOW64, provided AllSync is running on a 64-bit version of Windows.

Check accessibility of source and destination folders

This option continuously checks the accessibility of the source and destination folders during the copy operation. The operation is aborted if a folder becomes inaccessible after a defined number of checks.

Number of checks
Specifies how many times accessibility is checked. The copy operation is aborted if the folder remains inaccessible after the specified number of attempts.

Interval
Defines the time interval between each check in milliseconds.

Note: This option should be enabled for copy operations over network connections. Otherwise, a connection loss may cause data in the source or destination to be deleted by mistake.

Example:
  1. A copy operation is started where the source folder is located on a network computer and the destination folder is stored locally.
  2. A subfolder named AllSync exists in both the source and destination folder.
  3. The connection to the network computer is interrupted.
  4. The copy operation checks whether the subfolder AllSync exists in the source folder.
  5. Windows reports that the folder does not exist.
  6. As a result, the subfolder AllSync in the destination folder is deleted, because the deletion rule in the profile specifies that a folder should be removed if it does not exist in the counterpart.
